Trends in web design have been moving away from complex and technology - driven design and towards simpler aesthetics.
The growth of social networks and a move towards storing and managing data on the web are changing the way we use the Internet and design web page. Still, advances in technology, such as transparent images, better support for fonts and more flexible style sheets, have given designers more freedom in the use of
images and typography.
The future of design definitely doesn't lie in one discipline such as web design alone, for me it lies in the connection of graphic design, the moving images, sounds etc. The web design doesn't allow for many things due to the limitations of the screen, the browsers etc., but what it can do is to combine many different things and turn them into one and that's the strength of it. It's movement, interaction, the idea of being connected and sound that make the web design special.
